George Weigel to speak in Brighton this Monday evening, 1/14/2013, at 7pm (and on live webcast!) - George Weigel is a theologian, author, and one of Catholicism's leading intellectuals. His weekly columns are carried in the Pilot, the Anchor and many other Catholic newspapers and periodicals. His definitive biography of Pope John Paul II is a great book for every Catholic to read. This Monday, St. John's Seminary and St. Columbkille's parish in Brighton are hosting Mr. Weigel for a discussion of "Vatican II and the Birth of Evangelical Catholicism." In his talk, Mr. Weigel will explain that the Church doesn't "have" a mission but that rather Pope Benedict XVI and Pope John Paul II have helped the Church understand that it "is" a mission. There is no cost to attend the talk at St. Columbkille's which is at 321 Market Street in Brighton, MA 02135. Please click here for the event brochure.

For those that can't get to Brighton, you can tune into the live webcast of the talk as part of the Catholic Faith Essentials program. For more information about the webcast, please go to www.YearofFaithBoston.org.

Catholic Faith Essentials- Catholic Faith Essentials is a new free online course for Adults during this year of faith. The live webcast is offered each Monday night from 7-8pm (except holidays). Recordings of each session are offered "on demand" after the session is completed. It's a great opportunity to learn or re-learn about the essential foundations of Catholic faith.
